Tyres for F430

My car is in for service at the moment, and they've just called to say I need four new tyres. They're quoting £1250. My local specialist has quoted me in the past, hundreds and hundreds cheaper, so I relayed this information and got :

"Your local guy won't be able to get hold of any. Pirelli aren't making them at the moment, and there aren't any available anywhere."

Can anyone back this up, or offer a good alternative?

They'll probably do them for £800.

I've used them for years, never had an issue at all, in fact you'll probbly find that the bloke will be a petrolhead.

I had an issue with them once, when it came to getting the wheel's balanced in the van a weight or something came off the tool. Resulting in me having a very wobbly drive home and wobbly drive back to work the next day to get it sorted. However to be fair it was human error and I've had the same bloke come out loads of times and he's a nice chap.

What Pirelli tyres are they, corsa's? If so that doesn't seem like a bad price to me.

That's an educated guess.

They'll be a fkload cheaper than Fez though
