Gallardo E-Gear Problem

Hi boys and girls,

Friend of mine has just broken down in his Gallardo and its running and working but he cannot get it into gear. The main display says N and the strip below where the gear you would be in has N illuminated constantly, but R is flashing.

Any ideas at all? Does the car need a "reboot"?

Not very mechanically minded so a real wild guess but has your mate tried putting it into reverse as the"R" light is flashing. If it goes into reverse it might be possible to then select one of the forward gears. Are all variations failing? ( Sport, corsa etc). Sorry not much help but i am sure an expert will be along soon to help.
