Countach rear camera setup
Discussion
Ok guys, I know I should sit hanging out of the car when I reverse and have no need to see behind when I'm driving but I do feel a little uncomfortable whilst reversing or only seeing the numberplate of the car behind me.
I'm thinking of a camera in the numberplate area and either a stereo with a screen or more likely a rear view mirror with a built in screen. Any of you guys wimped out like me and have some advice?

Once you get used to it you'll find sitting on the sill and reversing is SO easy and gives you such a clear view and dodgy camera will seem a pointless addition to the car.
Spend some time in private practicing and you'll get the idea, there is so much torque that there is no need to touch the throttle, just ease it about on the clutch.

I wouldnt do it either. Problem with the countch is you have very wide sides and crap mirrors. If you lo at a camera I think you will wreck the sides or miss something else. I have scraped my car four times in parking but i do have a 120ft long non straight drive! Thats m excuse. never tried the hanging out of the car bit. Not sure i feel comfortable with it.!

Paul, if you've scraped it four times I'd think trying the sitting on the sill might be a good idea. Once you get used to it, left foot clutch, right foot covering the brake, one hand on wheel one on roof edge. You'll soon feel confident and you can see every corner of the car, suddenly easy to park anywhere.
... the first time I tried to reverse whilst sitting on the sill of a Countach was actually quite a successful moment!
There was an audience of a few (dozen) people whilst I was awaiting the call to take the car to the next school during a film shoot for TopGear in October 2002.
My effort was so successful, I got back up on the sill and went a little further!

at which point the car rolled over a small kerb that was barely a couple of inches high but high enough to mean I panicked and dropped back into the car, when my foot slid off the clutch and the car, thankfully stalled and I became very, very amused at the small amount of sarcastic 'applause' and my blushing heated most of Warwickshire
