Just getting used to the car but a few more questions.
From cold on tickover there seems to be quite a lot of vibration until the car is warm is this normal. It's better if I lift the revs very slightly but drops to what feels like a drone again once lifted off.
I've noticed a whistling noise when I drive with the windows down, its seems to come from the mirror but I could be wrong. I'm being very picky but I would like it perfick.
When changing up in gear on the flappy paddles in sport mode do you stay on the gas as such. I remember being told when driving a 360 to slightly lift off between gears. Also do you allow the car to change down the box automatically when in sport mode or do it yourself.
Cheers
Steve

Just a light curl of the toe to lift off briefly and straight back on when changing on F1 is all thats needed, makes it much smoother.
If your wanting to gas quickly as possible then just keep the foot nailed, but yes a very slight and very quick lift and back on will be smoother, you will get a feel for this over the coming weeks I am sure... Once mastered its never lost, much like when you first learnt clutch control

You dont need to back off at all when changing gears. Computer does it all. There is obviously going to be a but of a jolt as you're going from full thrust at 8000rpm to a split second of zero thrust while the cogs are changing, before back onto full power. However if, like UH-Matt you're getting a bit too old to cope with this then, yes, you can back off a bit to make it smoother; better still you could just buy an Audi.

Already got an Audi as well, so all bases covered.

Cheers I'll give it a go.
See my post on preserving the clutch, don't use slippy mode, sport or race only. Also the whistle from the mirror is normal, air is being channelled through it to the air intake, also when first started mine vibrates a bit too. All sounds perfectly normal to me.

But thats the thing if the tickover was just a fraction higher the vibration wouldn't be there.
I had that as well actually previously but only after the exhaust manifolds were replaced under warranty. It only stayed around for a short while until the car warmed up properly though.isaldiri said:

The manifolds on my car have been replaced as part of the Ferrari warranty inspection. So I'm the first to own it since. Its not a problem I just need to know it;s right. Thanks

Hi. Have to disagree a bit here. I was told to start off in slippy mode, only for a mile or 2 to ease gearbox into operation. Nine times out of ten, if I forget to switch out of sport mode when cold the gear changes are rough and all too often you get that lovely clutch burning smell. When in slippy mode to start everything is smooth and odour free! Maybe its cos i have to reverse out initially that i have to use slippy mode. Try it and see what you think. However as per previous post don't keep it in slippy mode long as that will spank your clutch.
Mine is also a bit rough at tickover when cold. Doesn't take too long to sort itself out.
Cheers!

The reason slippy mode is smoother is due to it slipping the clutch more to change gear, in my 14k miles i've never smelt the clutch burning when changing gear cold or hot for that matter. My clutch is at 36% with 21k miles on my car, the rules above work well for me.Mine is also a bit rough at tickover when cold. Doesn't take too long to sort itself out.

Also in reverse the car never really gets to fully engage the clutch so it's always slipping, a blast of reverse to get moving then come off the throttle is the way to do it don't keep your foot on the gas through the whole manoeuvre, if you need to reverse uphill at all then that's even heavier on the clutch.
John.
