Getting the hard sell on this for the new arrival . Is it really as good as suggested or just another expensive margin opportunity.
Would appreciate thoughts from those who know
Thanks

Excuse my ignorance but what is glasscoat? Is it a paint protection or something, like superguard?

I should have described it, apologies.
According to the sales pitch its a ceramic hardened glass finsih which bonds to the cars surface ( yes I am copying the emailed blurb) meaning it self cleans(??) and is resilient to liquids bird droppings etc
Paint work and alloys should be protected meaning no need to polish for 5 years.
Too good to be true? hence the question. Any detailers out there with a view?

Dont go for it - At all, unless its done by a pro detailer, but the chances are you can get a better service privately for cheaper..

ps, you have a pm (may have headed to junk mail)

As above really. Dealers are not known for their prep.

I have known outthe box ferrari's and astons need some proper machine polishing to remove the sanding marks/swirls etc. The last thing you would want is a poorly prepped car that you can't do anything about without removing the protection you have just paid for.

Avoid, utter waste of money, dealers shouldn't be allowed even near a bucket, it will be one not two!

I had this done on my newly purchased BMW in 2009 and waste of time.

If it was that good, it would be standard on the cars from the factory.....................and detailers would be out of business instead of having more work than ever.
