Just noticed a slow punture on one of the back tyres on the lp560. Been told best to buy a new one rather then repair due to the car being high performance.

Can you give me some advice how best to handle this. Based in the east midlands

Thanks

This might be a complete red heering so apologies if it is but are you sure it is a puncture? I had a tyre dropping pressure on mine and it turned out to be loose valve core. Got it tightened at the local tyre shop and no problem.

Just used the tyre repair kit to get pressure back up so going to see.

Just checked with lambo london, who are also saying the same thing

Porsche also say that they do not repair tyres and advise to get a new one. I have had many repaired with no problems to be honest.

I guess its due to these cars doing 200mph + and the risk of a blown tyre may be 1% higher if the tyre has been repaired rather than replaced.

if you used the gunk the tyre can't be plugged.

I made that mistake on the front tyre of my R8. Luckily the fat rear I just pumped and drove to the tyre fitters for a plug.

Had no choice but to use the kit as the tyre was completely flat

i've done more miles with a repaired puncture than i have without
that little bit of extra width takes the tyres to unswept crappy areas of road it seems

I dont think the kit i got is the gunk one, just air. It's the Lambo one provided when I bought the car

I used a cylinder connected to a box which connected to the ciggerate lighter.

Going to check in the morning if it's gone down.

If slow punture, is it worth just getting it repaired?

Depends on how worn the tyre is?

Not found a nail yet but looks like it happened at weekend when I was away and little bro had the car hmmmm

If it's a slow punture then I may just get it plugged. Safe to take it to local garage you think?

How worn is it? do they recomend changing tyres per axel to stop the differential knackering or something if one is a lot newer than the other?

You can't just change one tyre, you'll need to do both otherwise the traction control will go crazy....

Just take it to Kwik Fit and get it plugged.

Another vote for your local KwikFit unless you have plans to track it.

Thanks for the tip guys.

Just been to local kwikfit outfit who were very helpful. Basically the thing i put in yesterday to get me home was the the GUNK and therefore cannot do anything. They did say legally they are allowed to plug the wheel once. Also thing about replacing the 2nd tyre for traction, not needed as the new tyre is 7mm and the other one on is 6mm.

Another issue, there is no locking nut with the car. So phoned lambo up and they said it does nto come with the car and you have to buy for £18? never heard this before so wanted to know if they are pulling my leg?

Kwikfit gave me a price for £334 including VAT. Going to phone around see if i can get it cheaper, any recommendations in the east midlands welcome

Thanks chaps
