European motorway passes
Discussion
Just digged the web for costs of the Austrian Pickerl, which you only need for motorways IIRC.
10 days 7,60 Euro
2 months 21,80 Euro
1 year 72,60 Euro
>> So when you're doing your 14 miles on B-roads, you should be fine (best ask someone in the know though)

I tend to drive in Austria a 3-4 times a year (Planning to be back there in August with the Griff). You only need to pay to use the Motorways, normal roads are free.
You will need to purchase 'Vignette' which you then stick to the inside of your windscreen - the prices quoted previously seem about right - the only problem is usually getting the darn thing off once you are out of the country - they are stickier than a very sticky thing !
You should be able to purchase a vignette at the border - there is usually a kiosk at the old customs area where you can do so (or failing that the first petrol station you come to)
Be warned I am told by locals the police do keep a special eye out for foreigners who are not displaying a vignette ( Especially any German registered cars ! )
