Driving from Nice to South Italy.... Advise needed.
Discussion
Hey Guys,
I am taking a road trip from Nice to Greece.
Ive not done this journey before and am not too sure where i should go/ what to see.
Here's the general outline of how i want to do it:
Nice - Monaco - Rome - Brindisi (to get ferry across to Gr) - Athens
I would like to stay along the coast untill in Italy then dont mind going into the mainland. What i need help with is where to stop of, looking to spend about 5-6 days doing the trip but may take longer depending on what to see. Any good landmarks or nice towns to see would be ideal. Will be with the OH so any romantic destinations will be great.
Thanks for reading and i look forward to any suggestions you may have.

You could stop at Montecatini which is just north of Florence which is not to car friendly for parking!
Personally I would stop at Forte dei Marmi which is on the coast or if you really want to push the boat out Portofinno and eat at the Splendido Mare!
But most places in Tuscany will hit the spot with your other half!

I'd certainly go over the Fusa and Ratticosa passes near to Modena and are two routes that the Mille Miglia used. Also a trip to Maranello to see what is going round Fiorano is alsways worth a punt.
I used to work offshore from Brindisi and used to stay at The Hotel International, right on the seafront - secure parking as well. Not sure if its still there but was good when I stayed there!
Edit - it still is but called - http://albergointernazionale.it/en/
