Hi all.

If anyone's looking for something to do in Glasgow next Sunday, this years GVVT open day takes place on Sunday 9th October 2011 from 10am until 5pm. Once again, the traditional free vintage bus service will be in operation - this year it is bigger and better - full details soon. If you wish to make your own way to the open day, parking may be available in the surrounding streets - please follow any stewards directions which may be given. To find us, visit www.gvvt.org.

Buses run every 10 to 15 minutes from George Square and every 15 minutes from the Riverside Museum. For further details, see the flyer below or visit www.gvvt.org.

Hope to see you there,

Kenneth.

Mods, if you want to put this somewhere else, feel free. It usually ends up in "Scotland", "Events" or, bizarrely "Photography" so take your pick!

I went on a bus once... It was a bit rattly.

Won't the old ones be even rattlierer?

I'm taking my son along. He loved it last year!

Mind you, he was 2 1/2 last year and loved buses. Now he's a year older and mad about monster trucks. I get the feeling that if there isn't a monster bus he might be a bit let down.

It was all going so well until the word "bus" was mentioned.

Buses can be PH; as a passenger I've experienced a powerslide on a bus; grizzled Maltese bus driver + bald tyres + Leyland Tiger of dubious parentage + crappy Maltese tarmac + the first rain for about a month = lurid whiteknuckle(for me anyway) tail-out action.

I can beat that. Was a passenger on a London Routemaster that performed a handbrake turn I was about 10yrs old at the time and on the same day drove one myself. A couple of years previous I had driven an older 'RT' although I couldnt reach the pedals on that occasion so if anyone asks me ''what was the first car you drove?'' I can say err not a car a dirty great London bus. biggrin
