Charity Race Day Offers Rides For Cash

Snetterton hosts family day out for Ronnie McD projects

The inaugural Charity Race Day Experience at Snetterton on November 26th could be your chance to sample the supercar of your dreams - well from the passenger seat, at least.

The event is being organised by five local businessmen with a passion for cars, who have teamed up to create an event to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The aim of the RMHC is to provide free accommodation in or close to hospitals and hospices throughout the UK so families of seriously ill children can stay together whilst their child is being treated. The organisers, who are all Norwich-based are very keen to get one of these units built for the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.

Amongst the Race Cars that will be performing on the day, are two Aston Martin Vantage GT4 race cars, a Vauxhall VXR 8 V8 Cup, a BMW E30 DTM Schnitzer, a Ford Sierra 3 door Cosworth and a Renault Megane Dunlop production touring car. In addition, Carl Breeze, current Championship leader in the Ginetta GT races will be driving a Ginetta G50 race car.

We are also extremely pleased to have confirmed a number of fast road cars, including the McLaren MP4 12C, Aston Martin Vantage Roadster, Ferrari 430 Mode¬na, Radical SR3 RS, KTM X Bow, Mitsubishi Evolution 7, Vauxhall VXR 8, 1968 Ford (US) Cougar XR-7 and a Porsche Boxster S.

Throughout the day, visitors, including children over the age of 12 or measuring over 4'10" in height, will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of a lifetime, as they are taken round the track by a seasoned professional.

The organisers tell us they are also looking for groups or organisations who might be able to sup¬port the event on the day and any racing car owners who would like to take ad¬vantage of the opportunity to showcase their vehicle and their driving skills.

If you are able to help or would be interested to learn more, please contact Kevin Foley at Kevin@kfoleyltd.co.uk.

That E30 M3 looks stunning.

A very good idea and a fun way to raise money.

I'll unfortunately be busy then, but hope all goes well.

Is that black Escort a rear mid-engined monster? By the look of the wheels it could be handy in some road constructions biggrin

Is this replacing or augmenting the British Heart Foundation day? IIRC, that was always held sometime in November & sounds like in identical format (scare a passenger sh*tless by driving your race car like a loon). A good mate of mine did it every year, and the only reason I never did - apart from the travelling time - was my car only ever had 1 seat in it...

The old man is taking the MGC round, now has 280+ bhp, not bad for a car made in 1969!

I'll be there, quite fancy a pop in a 12C scratchchin

We have split the race cars into three groups. they will be price A = £60 B= £40 C= £20

Group A cars will be those such as the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 we have attending with group C cars being track day type cars with everything in between.

For more details we have a website www.charityraceexperience.co.uk

thanks to Garlick and the PH team for helping promote this event which, we hope, will become an annual event once again giving the public a chance to have passenger laps in race cars...
