Red Bull to take over Milton Keynes (for the day)

Come and watch Riggers chauffeur F1 stars around Milton Keynes this weekend

Milton Keynes seems a long way from the glitz and glamour of F1 but is in fact home to Red Bull and will, for one day only, become Buckinghamshire's answer to Monaco. Kind of. The super yachts might find the Grand Union Canal a bit of a squeeze but, other than that, expect the town to go F1 crazy this Saturday.

Because Messrs Vettel and Webber did rather well this year, winning 12 of the 19 races, Red Bull is celebrating this weekend by whizzing around central MK in its all-conquering RB7 F1 cars. Though we're assured they will be closing off the roads... (If only we still had that AE86 Corolla - Ed)

The event is free and is on 12-3pm this Saturday but we suggest that if you want to pop along you get there in good time - they're expecting around 100,000 people to turn up.

And if the presence of an F1 World Champion and some 750hp-worth of F1 V8 isn't enough, muggins here will also be there, chauffeuring the F1 drivers on a 'parade lap' in an open-top Infiniti. If that isn't an incentive to come along, we don't know what is...

My advice would be to drive to Wolverton, park in Tescos (right next to the station) and then jump on the train to MK Centre (4 mins).

DO NOT try to park in town. They've already started closing stuff down.

The cars are the showcars which are running V10's, not V8's. But thats OK because they sound much better!
Apparently DC will also drive a Nascar and There will be a stunt guy on a bike.

I'd agree with Riggers. Given the number of PH people likely to attend, and the teams affinity with a certain beverage, and the lure of an open topped car, I expect poor old Riggers will be knee deep in thrown cans of Redbull.

'Fess up on the Beds/Herts/Bucks thing - may have been Riggers' byline but it was the editor's addition and cock-up.

Obviously Riggers gets the bking...
