Just wondered if anyone was going later this year, often fancied doing one, but Gumball just got way out of hand!

Now that's odd, if I google it, a reply to this thread appears, but it's not here, has it been deleted? I thought it was a reasonable question!

I know its a startup, but wondered if the people behind it had done any previous variations.

Maybe I should go back to looking at Petrolhead Nirvana! Anybody done one of these?

Scott

Cannonball 2000 are definitely a legit company, they were exhibiting at Autosport International last week.

Another one is the Rico Rally www.ricorally.co.uk - these guys are in the more affordable end of the market.

I did the Petrolhead Nirvana Alpine Tour in 2010 and it was am amazing experience. If you want a proper invigorating drivers holiday, not a just fast motorway blasts with cr@p parties then definately go with PN

nice story from one of the 2010 atendees here:

That rico rally looks awesome and a decent cost, tempting, although 2000 miles of petrol wouldnt be cheap!

It seems to me based on recent and previous reports that a lot of these type of events do tend to draw attendance from some of the more the immature type of people

Now this may be part of the attraction of the event but of it’s not always without consequence

The only possible reason I can see for any reasonable to put up with some of the inflated egos is to raise some money for charity – I sure most of the participants are reasonable people but these are not the ones that get highlighted

Unless you’re into hero-worship of certain cars and minor celebrities – and if you are that’s your entitlement, if you’re harming no one then good luck with it – but I think there are better events out there

Mine of course is only a personal view but also I’m not commercially involved with any of theses events looking to make money or connections

From my experience of these events, they are insanely good fun. Do as many as possible before it is too late!

No commercial connections to any, but have taken part in Dodgeball, and Gumball last year; will be keeping up with as many as possible this year; Gumball is next in my diary.
