Not many people know this and it is often of interest to ring-frequenting-folks...


Non-German's can buy membership of the German AA, the ADAC for about £26... and this wil get you recovered from the ring for no charge. As well as ring recovery it also gives you helicopter rides to the hospital and other things you hope you won't need (or have to explain to your insurance company and hope they haven't excluded from you). It covers you as a member - so what ever car you are in (driver or passenger) you're covered.

With a bit of assistance from Google's translation engine, I found that if you send the following (after filling in the blanks!) to [e-mail] , they will debit your credit card, and send you a pack in the post. The strange thing is that the cover seems much better than anything the AA offer - so maybe if you break down in UK you might want to call the ADAC..?
