Hi all,

The Alpina club is holding another wet handling day at Rockingham in May.

This is a fantastic opportunity to find your cars limits on Rockingham's unique wet grip facility:

"Rockingham’s dynamic Wet Grip Area will push you beyond the limit in a unique controlled environment.

Combining a kick plate, water walls and a polished surface, so smooth it’s like ice, it’s the perfect place to hone advanced driving skills and demonstrate the latest in automotive safety technology.

Our Wet Grip Area was designed in conjunction with MIRA consultants, to meet exacting manufacturer testing and driver training standards.

The Wet Grip Area is perfect for driver training or for giving dealers and customers the chance to try out the benefits of new product developments in a safe manner."

It's not just a skid pan event, it's a full skid, drift, spin and slide session!
Tutoring is included and the wear to tyres is negligible due to the surfaces being treated.

The sessions run either am or pm and cost £125 per car for each session. Tuition is included and the tutors will assist you as much or as little as you require. Neil at the Alpina Register has somehow managed to keep the cost to the same figure as previous years!

This will be my fourth attendance which should give you an idea of how much fun it is.

Any marques are welcome, follow the link below to the Alpina forum to get your name down for one of these sessions!

Nige, I take it we have to register on the Alpina forum do we? I'm thinking this would be a great birthday gift for my girlfriend and her newly acquired MX-5. Who do we pay (or is that info on the forum too)?

You can register on the Alpina forum if you like, alternatively, DM me your email address and I'll send you the original email from Neil and his email addy. That way you can do it directly.
I'd love to see how an MX5 would be on the course!

Martyn,

100% get on it! Would love some more M cars to back me up!
Is that your CSL? I'd love to see that there! Any chance of a passenger ride to find out about this induction noise I read so much about?! ;0)

Sorry to disappoint though, but it's only a CS so no carbon airbox for me frown

I'll drop you a mail in a mo.

  • Edit* PH's e-mail facility is being special and won't send the mail. Grrr!

Martyn,

I've received your email and I've sent a copy to yourself and Nathan.

I'll still be very happy to have a good look at CS as they're also on my radar! ;0)
