19th July – 23rd July
Thur Initial meeting, registration and drivers briefing at Folkestone, Kent. We then set off for the 5 minute drive to the Eurotunnel for crossing into France. We head east through Belgium and into Germany where we stop off and enjoy the fantastic Michael Schumacher Kart Centre for a 30minute Go Karting event for all attendees. Then it’s on to Koln for the night where we will be staying next to the Gothic Cathedral in the centre of Koln itself. Dinner followed by (optional) Gentleman’s evening at local nightclub (!)
Fri The morning will be spent driving to Stuttgart, mostly on unrestricted Autobahns! Upon arrival at the Porsche Museum, a spot of lunch at the fantastic Boxenstopp Diner then our own personal Porsche Tour Guide of the museum. This is followed by a drive through the amazing Black Forest ‘500’ Route where the fun really begins – some awesome roads that climb and descend some 3500ft en-route to our evenings destination on the border of France & Germany.
Sat An early start as we venture into the Vosges Mountains toward the Grand Ballon mountain pass – in our opinion the highlight of the tour. Put simply is a petrolheads paradise. Miles and miles of fast twisty mountain roads with stunning views and hardly any other cars on the road. In the afternoon we head north into Luxembourg (cheap fuel and cigarettes available) and arrive late afternoon at Nurburg followed by a professional safety briefing and dinner at a local restaurant.
Sun An exclusive back stage tour of the Nurburgring GP Facility followed byThe Nurburgring Nordschleife public access. Today you enjoy it at your leisure - its open between 8am – 7pm! After testing ourselves at the Green Hell tables are reserved at the famous Pistenklause restaurant for dinner.
Mon Depart Nurburg for the drive home via scenic route through Monschau and passing Spa Francorchamps in the Ardennes for the journey back to Calais. (The Nurburgring is open on Monday between 2pm and 7pm if anyone would like to do anymore laps and an evening return can be arranged to the UK or even an additional night’s stay – please contact Dino should you need to arrange this)
What does it cost?
· £1299 per car based on two persons sharing or £799 for one car with one driver
(all accommodation based on shared twin rooms – triple rooms also available)
· A £350 deposit is required per car to secure your place with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to the tour (no later than 19th June)
Accommodation
Accommodation choice is the result of research trips (and previous tours) and in particular its location, ease of access, parking, and security.
