Anyone off to the Bromley Motor Pageant today?

Got a couple of hours to kill before Spain v Italy, and I haven't been in years. Plus, it might not rain!

FOURTEEN BRITISH POUNDS!!! that price really can't be justified. we live very close but haven't been for years as we always seem to be busy. as we were home and the weather was OK i thought it would be worth a look. i won't be going back unless they drop the gate price significantly. ten years of Goodwood car parks have obviously spoiled me!

I thought it was pretty good this year. Always well organised, and it was perfect weather - dry, warmish, but a but cloudy and threatening rain to keep the chavs away wink

If you are thinking of going down at midday though, wait until next year IMHO. I always go in the single make parking so I'm in before 9, and try to get round everything by lunchtime. You can see people leaving by 1, and by 3 it's a mass exodus which is a bit depressing and you've just got there.

Yup good show, organised the South East London North Kent Independent Porsche club stand at S2. We had a great day, in by 8:10, Gazebo & fence up by 8:30 & a roll full of sausage & a cuppa in my hand at 8:45. Weather behaved, bit of rain as we packed up at 3:30 & drizzle on the way back to Chatham.

The show did seem a little smaller this year & certainly less cars.

There didn't seem to be anywhere near the normal amount of cars coming along Bromley Common at 9am, compared with previous years. I always arrange my Sunday morning jog so I can see them. frown

I went out for a drive on Sunday and wondered why there were so many classics on the road. Then I realized that it was the Bromley Pagent, I thought it was next week as it usually clashes with Le Mans. By the time I realized it was to late, the amount of cars ment most were already on the way home.

I could have tarted up the BMW and entered the one make parking.

Got there at 11.30 and left at 4.00. Seemed like a lot less exhibits this year. Apparently exhibitors pay to display their cars and that hefty admission charge linked to dire weather forecast probably haven't helped. Great turnout of Aston Martins though.

Spotted a dark blue Lamborghini Diablo with a very appropriate registration just outside the Park!

It does indeed coat £5 per car but for that you get the car, a driver and a passenger in. Not bad against the normal entry fee for Bromley and what I pay to Brooklands to which is normal entry fee for driver and passenger. Aston display was impressive. We were awarded second prize for the Club Scuderia display.
