I'm going on a road trip in September. Planning to put the car on the train to Trieste, Italy and then meander about Northern Italy for a bit and then.... Who knows?

I've had a quick look on Amazon but not found much. Are there any good books in great driving roads in Europe or alternatively does anyone have any recommendation?

Thanks!

I want to do something similar. Where does the train go from?

Not sure what train you are using? If you want a trip agenda taking all the main passes I am doing this exact thing starting on Sept 7th. If you want the plan I have a couple of alternatives in excel.

PM me if you want them emailing over

Using the train means missing out on many of the wonderful French roads you could use avoiding the Peage. Drive all the way, make sure to cut across French D roads, take in the Route Napolean & finish with the Col d'Vence before heading over to Italy
