RE: Wilton House 2012 in pictures
Monday 6th August 2012

The annual pilgrimage of supercars to the Wilton House Classic & Supercar day took place at the weekend and, despite the best efforts of British summer showers, there was very little that could take the shine off the spectacular convoy of exotica making its way to Lord Pembroke's stately pile in Wiltshire.

Rain storms do little to dampen the annual supercar pilgrimage to Wiltshire

As ever, the convoy was headed up by lord P himself in his Bugatti Veyron, which was this year turned into a spectacular homage to Gulf Racing by the ever-awesome Ian Cook of Pop Bang Colour.
But it wasn't just the 'Bugarti' that grabbed the attention of the crowds enjoying the (eventual) sunshine. As you can see from the photos by GF Williams, there was plenty of other metal on display on Wilton House's front lawn...

It was a good day, if a little disorganised in the morning...
We had the Jensen booked into the classic car paddock on the nice lawn. On arrival at the main gate at 8am, we were refused entry because our yellow mirror hanger just had 'classic car' written on it, instead of 'GFE Paddock' or whatever it was called.
That meant having to drive round to the back entrance into Wilton House, and drive our 37 year old Jensen down a dirt track... when you're in a car that rarely sees rain, let alone mud in its wheel arches, it was not a good start to the day. Then the people on that gate didn't know where we were supposed to park, so we drove across a field (again not something you want to do in a car like that), and started our own parking area. Whether we were right or not, who knows, but as other classic owners then followed suit, that's how we ended up!

I was there and yes it PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED down until about 10am and then gave us sunshine for the rest of the day.
What a brilliant turn out and a big thank you to all concerned for organising it including Jay - top man!
Thanks also to the thousands of people lining the long drive into the Wilton estate ending outside the house. To have that many smiles, waves and "cor - that's a ZR1" made my day. If you like SuperCars you should have been there.

No, that's not acceptable and I'd be well peed off if that was my car. Hopefully that's something that will get sorted for next year.We had the Jensen booked into the classic car paddock on the nice lawn. Well that Bugatti pic certainly proves that the seemingly 3 year olds over on the Top Gear website comments pages can shut their faces. A few "Stiggywiggy wood wuv dis car
" keen eyed picture viewers thought it was an rc car! And the obvious idiot "fake and gay" trolls were on great form as ever! Looks a great lineup of cars to me
