Bruntingthorpe
Discussion
Not really sure I should post this here or on track days but here goes......
The Company I work for are holding an event at Bruntingthorpe in September. They will only be using the track very occasionally throughout the day and may (with a bit of persuasion) open it up to PHers for a nominal fee (say £40 for the afternoon). The money will go to charity but just to get a feel for it and before I get egg on my face.....would anyone be interested.
It would be a Saturday and numbers would be restricted to ensure safety etc.

Potentially interesting, depending which track layout you run.
Eeerrrr, that's just gone over my head. The event will be an internal 'driver of the year' competition in trucks but there are only approx 24 in the competition.
Is there a layout I should be suggesting?
The track at Bruntingthorpe consists of a big wide two mile straight, and a perimeter track. Using the perimeter track you can set up a long circuit which includes the whole two mile straight (which is boring unless you want to see how fast you can go or how long you can red line your engine before it blows up) or a short circuit which only uses half the straight. The short circuit has the advantage that it includes a chicane complex which makes it a bit more fun to drive. Apart from the chicane and the corners at each end of the main straight, Bruntingthorpe is basically pretty featureless and not that much fun.
If you do open it up to cars at any point, at least you could probably give your truck drivers passenger rides to give them something else to do after the competition is over?
Thanks for that I need all the help I can get.
It should be a really fun day and not too expensive either. It is the Company's first driver competition so the details are still a bit flakey but will firm up during next week.
The powers that be are up for us using the track, I would just like an idea of numbers so they know what to expect.
Thanks again

I could well be interested in this, providing there's no issues with noise regulations on the day or anything. I've been to bruntingthorpe a couple of times before in my Griffith and not had problems then. Also it depends on the format of the day as Stone Chips would be an issue for me as well.

Thanks for the responses.
The date is Saturday 25th September. We will probably have the track for the whole day (will be confirmed today).
The track will be marshalled and the usual Brunters safety rules will apply.
In the theme of raising money for charity, how would you guys (and girlies) feel about doing passenger (members of the public) trips for a set price. Passengers would have to sign disclaimers etc.
Numbers would be restricted to a max of 50 cars on the day.

I'd be open to the idea of passenger rides for charity, but limited to a few and only after I'd done some familiarisation laps! Please add me to you prospect list, thanks.
