Ollon Villars - Hilclimb Up Mont Blanc Sept 2013

Just wondered whether anyone on here's participated or spectated? Seems to happen every 3 years.

It's not actually up Mont Blanc!

Villars (in Switzerland) and Mont Blanc (in France) are about 50 miles apart. The climb is about 6 miles up the hill/mountain from Ollon to Villars.

Got a mate who wants to enter it this coming year. Hillclimb up Mont Blanc was how is sold it to me - I've since looked on a map and feel cheated somehow.

Not sure about the Switzerland thing - would we be allowed any fun whatsoever?

Alhough I go to Villars quite a lot I have never been there when the hill climb is on. However locals have told me (but I'm not sure it is true) that the police actually set up speed traps in a village between Ollon and Villars to catch competitors. Also there is at least one fixed speed camera on the route and plenty more on the motorways in that area! For all that it's a lovely area but I guess you are perhaps looking more for motoring fun than great scenery and so on?
