Does anyone know the cheapest car that would be eligible for the event?

Fantastic idea to take part, I did some research along the same lines last year and I think this is the cheapest option:-

That car won't get in, for a start it's two year's too new!

Expect to pay a substantial sum for any car that has a realistic chance of getting entry (>£200k). Be very careful about cars that are advertised as 'Mille Miglia eligible' - it's a known ploy to boost the price and what it really means is that the car is of the right type and age, but in reality you'd be very lucky if it's actually accepted. Even buying a car that has done the MM revival before is no guarantee as the rules have changed recently, and only those that took part in the original event would definitely get in - and they certainly aren't cheap. This article sums it up nicely http://www.theautomobile.co.uk/pages/posts/mille-m...

There are the odd exceptions of course, like the Isettas mentioned (I have actually seen one advertised as MM eligible wink ), but do you really want to do a thousand miles in that? And even these oddities (that truly have entry) aren't going to be that cheap either.

The only way of guaranteeing entry is to buy a car that already has entry (or a seat in one).

Of course as with all things, knowing the right people, and in this case, being Italian always helps. wink

I'm sorry to give you the bad news, but I don't want you to have an unrealistic idea of how difficult it is to get in, believe me I know how frustrating it can be - a friend didn't even get in with his Maserati 250S!
