Spa 2013 camping
Discussion
Sent an email to the Racing Hotel months ago asking about camping for the Spa 24hr. Got an email back asking for details for the booking including card details. Not mailing card details, so sent back all the other stuff and asked if they had another way to sort payment... all quiet since then despite chasing it up.
Anyone got any other recommendations for good campsites? Not asking much, just some grass and clean facilities, preferably walking distance to the circuit, and some inclination to actually take my booking. There are girls in the group so the suggestion of several days living out of the back of the Land Rover at the side of the circuit is probably pushing it a bit far :-D

Try these guys....

Can't fault them. Perfect service, food and beer is decent and toilets/showers are very clean and work well. Pre-erected tents if needed and they lay on travel to and from the track (10min drive).
Went to the race in 2010 and stayed with them, had no problems!

Went with Eau Rouge in the end - sent an email, got a reply with prices and an invoice for a 30 euro deposit to confirm the space back the same day and details for bank transfer or paypal; excellent service I reckon. Bit more of a walk to the track but the site looks like a nice place. Roll on July!
Eau Rouge was great. Friendly staff, quite a Dutch oriented campsite but fluent in just about every language it seemed. Busy with families, most of who seemed to be attending the race as part of their summer holidays. Clean facilities and hot showers - couldn't ask for more.
It's about a 30 minute walk down the road to the circuit - some bicycles would have been excellent.
Did a write up of it here.

In 2011 Camping F1 was dire. The toilets and washing facilities were constantly failing and as a result were filthy, stank and generally unfit for use. The site was very hard to drive in an out of too as a modest amount of rain (to be expected at Spa) so the place was like a bog.
Given what Camping F1 charge it was far from good value.
I suspect all of the race related campsites are the same, they all get grotty reviews. I suggest looking for a permanent campsite designed for tents and caravans. A bit further out, but much more civilised.
