According to this weeks Motorsport News, Rob Austin will be running his BTCC Wix Racing Audi A4 at the event... Presume this is last minute, as I cant find any other confirmation of this at moment???

Great day out. First time I've been.

Best car was a 560 SEC AMG Widebody. Far too high riding for my tastes, and the wheels looked like a set of badly chromed Wolfrace alloys. Fantastic car but it wouldn't look like that if it were mine.

Turned up today, superb weather, lots to see, few stalls etc. Racing was good and lots of people in attendance. Had to leave early though, was getting pissed off with countless parents letting their kids run their sticky fingers up and down the car. I am not joking every other kid was doing it, even after being told. Quite a disrespectful bunch of people really. Maybe it's just me but I got got up at 7 am to prep the car so people could view it. Won't be going next year, if I had taken my cover would have thrown it over the car.

Fantastic event today! I have gone every year so far, and last year a went on both days but this year I could only do today because I'm going to a different show tomorrow which will be attended by John Surtees. The selection of cars was great. If God made cars he would have made Ian Wright's Chaparral.

You think finger prints are bad? You fairy! Here's a rant I posted last week on another forum:

I said:
No, you will not enter my house and watch TV for the same reason that you do not enter my car and fiddle with the controls!

We were kind enough to take the Midget out to a car show at a primary school today which raises money for the school but I don't know if we'll go next year because some respect from the visitors would be ever so gratefully appreciated. I am fully aware that when your at a school show you can expect children to run their greasy little fingers along your car (annoying, but not really a problem) but I do not expect to find some little ste sitting in the driver's seat of our car with permission from his stty parent but not the owner. :wker:

I didn't want to make a scene or confront a probably incoherent prick so I drop a subtle hint by opening the boot lid to remove my lunch. That worked and they were gone before you could say 'Jack Robinson is a disrespectful little ste because his parents are so incompetent'.

Two hours later we are about to leave when we discover they left our lights and left indicator switched on. Perhaps try harder next time because you didn't quite mange to drain the battery.

We later spoke to a lady from the Panther club and some Triumph motorcyclists who were just as unimpressed. It's thanks to us that these shows happen but when our cars are treated in such a fashion no one will turn up. It's such a shame that a very small minority has to ruin it for a majority.

On a nicer note, we received three votes from the kids for best in show and I overheard one say 'I like the wheels [new Rostyles]; they really suit the car.'

I was a kid once, too (still am, technically). I first went to the Bromley Pageant of Motoring when I was two or three but I would never have dreamed of touching anyone else's car without the owner's permission. I don't blame the kids but the parents because they make no attempt to stop their children, then the snotty little bds think it's okay to touch whatever.

Had a great day yesterday, the Chaparral was indeed an impressive beast and looked a real handful on that short twisty track.

Will be back next year....

Car of the show, well done. Hope without too many finger marks on it?

So out of curiosity which car?
