Thinking of heading down to the GP in September with a mate and wondering if any other PHer's are going.

Could possibly hook up for the journey down if you fancied some extra company and of course, would welcome any advice on best places to view the race, depending if we go for just general admission or somewhere seated etc.

Sadly can't head down this year but I drove down last year and wrote a fairly comprehensive report on the experience. Might help with guiding yourself around and what to see. You'll absolutely bloody love it!

Dropping in laws at the airport on the Saturday, seriously thinking about hoping on a plane ourselves and going to watch the race, not been to F1 for quite a few years.
Guessing it's doable on the return leg, I believe the circuit is not far from the airport?

Great read! Sounds like you had a fantastic time.

Walking boots sounds like a good idea wink

Very lucky - we had a wonderful couple of weeks. Monza is just spectacular!

Walking boots essential but it does get mega hot. In fact until this week, last year's Italian GP was the last time I'd been properly warm outdoors :-)

Small tip - the only good General Admission spectating I found with a big screen was the terrace on the inside of the second Lesmo. There's an aluminium teared terrace there and it's a great spot to watch. The approach to Lesmo 1 and Ascari are absolutely the most dramatic places to watch Grand Prix cars on the limit though. Mega stuff!
