Is anyone attending, or taking part in the St James's Concours of Elegance this year?

It was at Windsor Castle last year and I only found out about it by accident, but the cars on display were absolutely stunning. The 50 cars on the lawn had an estimated value of £500,0000000.

I can't be going to this, but if it is anything like last year's concours at Windsor it will be worth the money. I hope to see plenty of nice photos.

Just been round it, different world.I would dread to think how much money is sitting on that lawn. Shame about the weather, should of gone yesterday. If you get a chance - go.

I'm pleased to be able to say that this is no longer true as someone has managed to get us half-price tickets for tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it very much.

Fantastic pictures Gary. I was there on Thursday & what an incredible event. I even spoke to Prince Michael of Kent about one of the Bugattis which made my day. I took some pictures as well which I will be putting up on Flickr, but nothing as good as yours. I need to practice!!

To those who went to Windsor last year how did this compare? I thought last years event was stunning - the club display up the long walk, the line up of cars inside the gates and finally the selected few inside the castle courtyard. It takes a lot to impress me but I was really impressed. Somehow this year I couldn't be bothered to schlep into central London and without the parking on the Long Walk it was all less inviting. What did you all think?

Last year's garden party atmosphere...

Smashing event!

As above, however, I don't think the atmosphere was as nice as Windsor's. With Windsor you did get the aforementioned garden party atmosphere, something I consider to be extremely friendly and welcoming. There is nothing particularly friendly or welcoming about trying to look at cars with traffic roaring along the Mall behind you while some foreign tourist with a haircut like a total bell end sits stands with his greasy hands on the bonnet of a Jag as his noisy mates take a lopsided photo with a crappy portable 'phone. St. James's was also less spacious than Windsor.

All in all, I'd rather it was held at St. James's again because it makes it a damn sight easier and cheaper for me to access (so, show organisers: ignore what I said above and let's keep it in London for next year, please smile ).
