Road trip suggestions from Inverness back south please!

every county has it's great roads and great scenery and lovely places to visit and stay you just need to get away from the main routes
if it's just two people and one car don't bother to book, just look out for B&Bs as you pass or just call into a nice country, village or town pub during the day and ask what accommodation is available - we've done that for years and have stopped in some fabulous places for low prices co,pared to hotels of the same standard
not all B&Bs are like seaside ones, we've stopped in ones with their lake or riverside walks on their land (in Scotland), our own dinning room or set of rooms (in England) all for the same price as usually B&Bs
