PistonHeads at Salon Prive 06/09

Last few places for a very special day out at Salon Prive

Syon Park provides the fantastic setting for the eighth Salon Prive event comprising the British Super Car Show, Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elegance and Tour d’Elegance, The Concept and Prototypes Display, Boodles Ladies' Day, The Hyper Car Collection, EFG Private Bank Art & Memorabilia Fayre and a Luxury Brands Village. As you can see, it’s quite some event.

Already renowned for being an exclusive and special event, 2013 sees the excitement ramped up with Salon Prive hosting a private, and rather exclusive, end of summer PistonHeads BBQ on Friday September 6.

The event will take place within the stunning private walled gardens of Syon's Great Conservatory which was built in 1826. Located just off the main lawn, the building and surrounding gardens will provide the perfect backdrop for this spectacular occasion, which will also include a display of up to 15 PistonHeads supercars. We will have a private PistonHeads party in the morning within the private enclosure of the conservatory, before we join the main Salon Prive event at 2:30pm.

Thanks to all PHers who have already booked tickets for this event, we look forward to seeing you there. If you still want to join us you'll need to be quick as the booking deadline is midnight Tuesday September 3 to take advantage of this special offer.

Don't forget to add your car details to the calendar link below so we can confirm parade details with you all.

The itinerary is as follows

10:00am Private PistonHeads BBQ in The Great Conservatory
(Coffee upon arrival is supplied thereafter a pay bar is available)
12:00pm Private PistonHeads BBQ (menu and pricing below) in The Great Conservatory
2:30pm PistonHeads Supercar Cavalcade Parade to Salon Prive guests
(cars to be selecteed prior to the event)
4:00pm English Afternoon Tea
4:15pm Finale Salon Prive Supercar Parade
5:00pm Salon Prive closes

All PistonHeads cars not on display in the supercar display outside of the conservatory will be parked on Lime Avenue opposite the main house. From here a number of sports and supercars will be chosen to take part in a special PH Cavalcade taking place around the event at 2:30pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for PistonHeads members to experience what has undoubtedly become the UK's most exclusive motoring occasion. Commencing with a private member BBQ gathering before joining the PistonHeads Supercar Cavalcade within Salon Prive, then enjoying the afternoon hospitality, all at an incredible member price of £75 ex VAT instead of the usual £195 ex VAT.

Places, as you will appreciate, are limited.

Ticket price includes

From 10:00am entrance to:
PistonHeads BBQ in The Great Conservatory
(Homemade Beef Burger £6.50/Marinated Chicken in Pitta £7/Marinated Grilled Haloumi in Pitta £6.50)

From 2:30pm entrance to:
Complimentary Bar (including Pommery Champagne)

Traditional English Afternoon Tea
Salon Privé Official Souvenir Guide

As well as access to:

The Audemars Piguet British Super Car Show
Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance
EFG Private Bank Art & Memorabilia Fayre
Royal College of Art 'Concours of the Future' Exhibition
Luxury Brands Village

To book tickets please click this link.

Please note: It is essential that all guests mark themselves as attending (along with the make and model of your car) on the event calendar once a ticket has been purchased as this will help us to arrange the display and the parade.

A good event this. They are trying to establish it as a genuinely upmarket classic car event like Villa d'este.

It is like, well posh. Make sure everyone behaves themselves.

Don't go leaning against the priceless and fragile vintage cars like I did ..

At last, those that complain about 'nosing the stilton' have got an event to go to.

(Presumably no ketchup permitted at the BBQ hehe)

An excellent discount negotiated. I'm seriously considering it. One question: where would you place my Mondeo in the display? To the left or the right of the wheelie bins?

So it's like Wilton Classic and Supercars but for posh people?

Not really, no. Aside from the supercars of course.

It's different to Wilton and FOS, but is certainly a classy affair.

This is one event I have wanted to go to for years and this is an amazing deal but I can't go, I'm gutted. Please make sure you organise this again for next year.

A valid point though; I don't dare show my head at even the local PH car meets (a MINI with an auto box... dacka-dacka-dacka). What do you have to turn up in to be allowed access something as exclusive as this? Clearly it would have to be a minter (detailed until the inside of the cam-covers glistened), so a wheelie bin slot for an old 60s English classic (25K); the shame of being turned away in an ally bodied C-class Jaguar _replica_ (80K); newish McLaren (150K) might get away with it, but only if the latest 2013 update is fitted; or some seven-figured exotica?

Is the ticket per car, ie for two persons, or Per person? thanks.

So what time is the 'rev off'. After the champagne and canapés? I couldn't see it in the schedule for the day.

The only strict criteria is that you present yourself in a vaguely smart fashion, aside from that there are no restrictions.

Cars will be chosen to be displayed around the conservatory and within the parade, if you don't want to be involved (or the car isn't suitable for a parade) you may still park in Lime Street but you can continue to enjoy the hospitality while others rush for their cars.

Hey, you can even arrive by taxi if you like.

I think a significant percentage of the Salon Prive core demographic will have their contract driver take them there. Probably in an Audi A8 like the one on the PH front page today.

FWIW this event is like "Made in Chelsea" with cars...

A few of us have been before, and I've met a good amount of PHers there too. Slightly unfair to give a broad brush like that IMO. That's like saying Goodwood is full of tweed when, in reality, it's far more varied than that.

But, if you don't like it then you don't like it.

I'm not knocking it.. I am a fan. I'll be there, drinking the champagne at the Boodles and EFG hospitality. I think my "Made in Chelsea" statement was probably with the average Boodles client in mind !

There are PH'ers there if you look for them. smile

Garlick,
I'll be in London for that weekend, but we're flying from Dublin so no car...
Can we still attend as part of the Pistonhead offer, in the aforementioned Taxi?
Cheers,
Simon.

Absolutely, with the bars and champagne I doubt you'll be alone.
