Superb day out. Good to meet the usual crew and take note of a few absentees.
Thanks to being chauffeured for 2 minutes by phatgixer, for a gentle drive around the Bruntingthorpe complex, I've come to the conclusion that Clarkson is right;
Mercedes really have gone berserk........
Also thanks to Guy for a run in the Maser.

Superb day!
Bad news is I may be looking at a full engine rebuild. Good news, what a superb day! Already looking forward to the next one.
Thanks to all who helped out with my car, who gave me rides in theirs and of course to Craing and co for organising it so well.
Special mention to Oggy, who saved the day when I needed a way to get home with car in tow. Top chap!
Never done this kind of event before, can't wait to get the car sorted so I can do it again.

Ah, now that was a giggle. Despite having a crap car that topped out at 142, I had a blast, especially through the twisty bits.
Thanks too for the passenger rides, particularly in rviant's fezza and gixer's Autobahn-destroyer.
And sorry guys, I will be there, hopefully at the next one, to lower the tone with three grand's worth of 11-year-old car.
Now to find those pictures...
Edit: Thanks again to Craig and co-organisers. Cheap, great fun, minimal beaurocracy to worry about, no attitude at all. Good job folks!

Yes thanks again Craig it was top day and even the weather was kind.
Some great cars and great people.
I was quite pleased with my top speed of 160 in the 456 but think I can do better next time. It was still pulling hard when I had to brake.
The GT2's seemed to be in a class of their own though.
I also have some pics to post and a LOUD video of Simons Murcielago giving it some off the start line.
Also had some good pasenger rides in Johnny Sennas Boxter S (144) an Esprit (153) and phatgixer's business partner's (forgoten his name) BMW M3 CSI (161)

I hope you got home ok and what was wrong with the engine. I hope I was wrong but????
Dunno yet, but it looks like you where right! If I am lucky, a bearing and a bill of around £1.5k. If I am less so a full re-build. No real way of knowing until next week when she is off to be examined!
Oh well, winter time anyway and I was planning to get the wheels reconed as well so may as well take the opportunity and do another few bits while the car is ill. Not ideal, but such is life. Of course I shall post on the Esprit section with progress reports.
