To the CSL owner
Discussion
It is a Supersprint lightweight centre section and back box with 100 cell race cats. Available form Hyperturismo racing. Gives approx 20bhp and does not upset the ECU. Sounds cool but is only 99db meaning it passes most circuits noise thingies..
Tell Joe I sent you (he won't won't give you a discount otherwise!)

I agree it was very nice sounding but it DOESN'T sound like a 360 (a Tubi'd one at that too)
Yes it does. Not the same and not like a 360 with a Tubi but it was not too far away from a standard 360. No sound of real displacement like you get with a Ferrari V12 or a Murcie but a loud high pitched dentist's drill shreek.
Gixer, did you buy it new? From what I have heard you can pick up CSL's with minimal mileage for slightly more than a new M3 (and a few main dealers still have new cars which they cannot shift)
£ for £ I thought it was one of the most impressive cars at VMAX.

Yes, Had it from new. There are some delivery miles only pre-reg cars in dealers at around £49k which is a bargain.. I paid £62k for mine (with a few extras).
The car is just awesome when you through corners into the mix. It would have posted the fastest lap time round the twisty bits (actually, maybe the Noble would be as quick though)...
It is a horny thing.
I'll second (and I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this) that it is awesome through the twisties. It seems to have no over/understeer whatsoever, just trimming the wheel keeps it going in the direction you want it to go.
Your mate Michael used every bit of gravel as well to keep it absolutely planted. A quite unforgettable experience, so much so, I HAD to have a second ride.
Wanna swap Gixxer for an E36 328i? You know you want to, mines a straight six as well.

They do look bloody lovely in black...
Agreed, BMW absolutely hit the bullseye with this. Utterly menacing.
Darth Vader would drive one of these.
Had the pleasure of taking one down to VW courtesy of a very benevolent PH'er.
A stunning vehicle, its worth the premium over the normal M3 just for the sport button on the dash.
Obscene to offensive at the flick of a switch...
Bargain at the moment too...
