After much discussion at the Mid-Sussex Onset of Winter Run, it has been decided to organise a Christmas curry night for the Susex PHers.

So I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest:

Date: Saturday 11 December
Time: 8:30pm with pre-match drinks beforehand
Venue: The Royal Spice in Burgess Hill

I hope that this suits. I thought it would be good for the Brighton crowd, the Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath mob (of course), and it's hopefully not too far for the Crawley and Horsham boys and girls.

Could you please let me know asap whether you're coming and whether you'll be bringing anyone with you (the more the merrier ), so that I can book a suitably sized table.

I went to the Royal Spice this weekend and can honestly say I had one of the finest curries of my life. I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the quality of the food.

Of course, if anyone from further afield than Sussex would like to join us, you're more than welcome.

I am afraid I have to echo Alex's post and say Bugger, I can't make 11th December either!

All my Saturday night's in December are already booked (I'm such a socialite... ). A Friday night I could manage (just not the 10th).

PS: Thanks Cosmos for the email pointing me here.

Curry nights are my absolute favourite events however, i'm away from the 10th Dec. 2004 for a while snowboarding (how long depends on snow fall) so won't be able to make the 11th

the only weekend nights i could make before hols are Friday 3rd Dec or Sunday 5th Dec. (Sat 4th is the Surrey TVR club christmas dinner).

I would however be up for a meet over the christmas/new year holiday period. I'm usually back in BH over christmas weekend and after. Usually bored senseless, so a blast, beer and curry evening would be excellent.

Sounds good to me

Would people be interested in a Sun pub meet on 9 Jan, along the lines of what I mentioned in the Sussex Meet thread before it got closed, ie:

how about the Pizza Pub near Partridge Green? V good pizzas, nice pub, good ales, decent car park, and in the middle of some nice roads

Alex - 9th sounds like a winner - let's do it.

Trinity - just call me whenever you're in BH and bored. I spend most weekends driving around during the day and out with friends in the eves; you'd be more than welcome to join us...

Alex, you'll have trouble keeping it anywhere near the top if you put it in General Gassing... isn't the best place for it here?

Hopefully see you in Trev the blue wonder, rather than the Audi or the Rover - wouldn't want to see Trev suffer another flat battery due to neglect!

Big Al - would Miggy and your good self be up for some curry and/or pizza on the dates mentioned?

Many thanks for the offer, could well take you up on that.

I'll firm up with you nearer the time!

I'd have thought if you were going for a Curry the Nizam in Haywards Heath would be better! It's where I go and I personally think it's much better than The Royal Spice.

Also that Pizza Pub near Partridge Green is "The Bull", just north of Henfield, and is one of my favourite places. Strongly recommended!!

Cheers - Chris

Painey, what's done is done... Now are you able to join us for either or both events?

I prefer Royal Spice to Nizam, but agree that they are both excellent eateries. I'm not kidding though, the Chicken Rezalla I had last weekend was possibly the best curry I've ever had (and I've had a few, oh)

If it's on the 9th December I won't be able to make it as I have rugby training on Thursday nights. I really must get my arse down to one of the local meets sometime soon though as there's loads of PH'ers local to me and I've never even met any of you!!

All the best - Chris

D'oh! Not quite sure where I got that from then but I still can't really make it I'm afraid. There is however a strong chance I'll be in a nearby pub rather the worse for wear, as usual on a Saturday night!!

Cheers - Chris
