Driving in Slovenia
Discussion
Hi guys
I'm having a road trip to see the Hungarian GP in a few weeks, the route is mostly finished - going to take in the Nurburgring and the Alps along the way. However theres one day we're driving from Zagreb to Innsbruck which takes us through pretty much the entire length of Slovenia which will be new to me. Can anyone suggest some good roads and places to stop?
Thanks

Looks like you may go fairly close to Bled, worth a visit to see the lake, lovely spot & good place to stretch your legs or have a swim if you get the time. Can't help with roads as we just took the main road down from Klagenfurt when visiting a couple of years ago. Enjoy the road trip !
Drove down to Slovenia a few weeks ago, also via the Nurburgring (then onto the Czech Republic and Poland)
Slovenia is a really great country – you have a lot to look forward to. Some beautiful mountains, great food, and fantastically hospitable people.
I would also suggest lake Bled, you can hire rowing boats and row out to a church on a little island (we didn't make the church as laziness prevailed half way).
The capital Ljubljana is well worth visiting too. It is a small capital, with a very peaceful atmosphere.
I remember having a particularly delicious pony steak somewhere – before it was cool! (found the place on WikiTravel).
