Mercedes-Benz World Sunday Service review

A fantastic turn out once more for the PH trip to M-BW, plus raffle prize details!

The sun was out for a lovely morning in Surrey where we welcomed over 500 PH cars to the fabulous Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge. We'd like to say a massive thanks to our hosts and of course to you for coming along.

The good folk at M-BW laid on some great activities including AMG passenger rides and driving experiences to get a proper taste of AMG's cars. They also opened the AMG Performance Centre so everyone could have a good look around the current AMG range. On display as well last year's W03 F1 car and the W165 of 1939. Lovely.

And we've not forgotten about the prizes! The winning ticket for the AMG Driving Experience Voucher is Pink Ticket #135. If you are in possession of this ticket, please email me (nathan.lowndes@haymarket.com) a photo of your ticket to claim your prize.

We had all sorts of metal arriving from a bike engined Mk2 Escort, a bonkers E39 BMW 530d pick-up and a beautiful Jaguar XJ220 with pretty much everything else in between. The selection of cars proves how fantastically diverse these events are and that everyone would see something they love the look of at a PH Sunday Service.

We're having a bit of a rest with regards to Sunday Services but we will be back in December so keep your eyes peeled for the next announcement.

See you soon!

Surely the winning ticket was blue number 1 and the above is a typo right? Right?

Cracking day as always, cheers all.

I'm just waiting to see how many photos of pink raffle ticket number 135 Nathan receives (with or without the correct serial number photoshopped in). hehe

The XJ220 was a great thing to see. In fact, it's the first one I've ever seen actually being driven, so thanks to the lucky owner for bringing it out to play.

As an aside, it was also nice to see just how respectful everyone was of the 2 minute silence.

Big thanks to the organisers and staff. My wife who I had to drag out of bed at 7:30am on a Sunday to make sure we were first in the queue for drives actually enjoyed herself and had 2 drives plus SLS ride. Now when I drone on about the noise of a C63 and M6 she at least knows what I am talking about, even if 'excited' is a word I wouldn't use to describe her expression the whole time!Pretty sure I had the most drives there.
great day - until next time...

The Jaguar SS100 and Lamborghini Aventador also caught my eye - an interesting contrast between ancient and modern takes on the sports car. And was the MB building designed by a Dalek?

I was lucky enough to follow the Jaguar in and park next to. Not a bad start to my first SS.

The only issue I have with a Sunday Service like this is that I come away thinking how boring my car is!....Needs must!

Great event. Thanks to all involved
