I went out this morning to see the Historic Commerical Vehicle Rally come through our town. I'm no nerd, but I've got to say, I was impressed.

And talking of terrifying, these two images were taken seconds apart. See if you can understand what was going through the car driver's mind.

It was a good morning, despite the dreadful weather.
About 20 years ago I was called to a police accident where one of my PCs had collided with another car in Mill Road, extreme north of Brighton. I drove up in the inspectors' car with my sergeant, the reporting officer, and then walked off as I didn't want to hang around. I said I'd thumb a lift back to the nick.
It was the day of the historic vehicles and so I waited for a bus. Along came this old London Transport thing with a group upstairs and a lone bod downstairs, talking to the driver through a sliding window. Despite being in the police for nearly 20 years, I did not see the significance of the fact that everyone who could had avoided him.
For the ride to the Steine I was told how to tell a pre-war RT from a post-war RT. It is via the roof boxes. I've forgotten the details, as I had by the time I alighted.
