Hi Everyone,

Hot on the heels of today's event I had a thought. To be fair, I had the thought a few weeks ago and it's been tumbling around in my head since... but today cemented it.

In short, PH is actually a fairly small team - all of the events, marketing and community is run by just 3 of us (Ben, Ollie and me). We do occasionally have help from the editorial guys and a few other PH staffers, but they can't always attend.

Today we were a little short handed, and I think a few PHers would've made a huge difference to how the day ran. So, what I wanted to know was if some of you might be interested in getting involved by volunteering from time to time?

It would be easy stuff like marshalling cars, checking the attendance list and things like that, and in exchange we can offer priority access to Sunday Services AND unlimited tea, bacon and biscuits. Oh, and probably a bit of merchandise too.

We'd only need a couple of people per event, and whilst we'd need you on site before the event opens, you'd be all done by about 10am to enjoy the event.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and by all means just say if you think it is a dreadful idea!

Cheers

JD

Yep as long as I was child free would happily give up some time to do some marshalling.

Case in point I have my name down for Silverstone, coming on my own, so would be happy to help out.

I'm in the Midlands so anywhere within a reasonable radius wouldn't be a problem, Silverstone, Gaydon, Bruntingthorpe etc.

Great, thanks guys. We'll draw up a list of the events that we need marshals at (some venues supply staff so no need for PHers to give up their browsing / bacon eating time!)

Once we've done this we'll include it in the launch article / forum post so people can put their names forward to help.

Thanks again all

I'd be interested in doing it for the more northern events, living in Stoke would make Goodwood and the like a bit of a trek hehe

for any other organisation yes but the hassle potential from some ofthe amateur sleuths of PH should you make a reasonable request that ruffles their ego ...

youm bain't from round ere boy? are youse ?

the risk from thrown energy drink containers or waking to find to frozen sausages in your lawn simply isn;t worth it ...

Never mind the other amateur sleuths who try and make peoples professional lives problematic when called out on stuff they post...

Sorry - I understand what you mean now (I thought you meant PH as in us PH staff). I would say though that in my experience Sunday Services are a very different thing to the forums and the vibe is always incredibly positive.
