fellow owners, after quite a few slides and spins yesterday at vmax I need new rubber.

Can anyone tell me what size they are (dont have car with me at the moment) and tyre options/your preferences. cheers.

Did this have anything to do with chasing the 997 with 4 up?

I've got some good video of your car at a most acute angle of lean after the 2nd right hander after the first straight.

Sorry, can't help with the tyres.

Yes I saw it all....you were certainly hooning it out of the bottom bend!!

I was still filming you as we went past you on the straight...

I'm going to get my footage on DVD for what it's worth and I'll send you a copy...

ha, brilliant, that would be great.

My poor 3200, i was asking for what it couldnt give, ie keeping up with the 997, wasnt too far behind though. I think a manual would have been a bit closer.

To be fair Craig that 997, went like a train!! And not the metrolink either, more like that Japanese bullet thing.

The brakes were feckin awesome as well. Trust me there was no disgrace losin out to it.

I'm no computer genius, but i'll try and get the run down on a clip for you on DVD or something. Either way I'll be able to record the raw footage and send it to you, it would be my pleasure.

Any ideas how to get Hi8 onto an .mpg format? I've got a DVD recorder so I can transfer video to DVD OK. But can I take a section out of the DVD and save it to .mpg?

TYRES!

Craig tyre sizes are

Front: 235/40 ZR 18.
Rear: 265/35 ZR 18

According to the web. Check with the dealer to be safe I would!

Choice seems to be either

Michelin Pilot Sports (just got these myself, seem pretty good in the dry so far, not too much tyre noise).

Pirelli Rossos - very soft, my rears lasted around 7k miles total. Nice and progressive though and a good sticky tyre.

Nick v12v8 has something else on his which were a bargain - drop him a mail, can't remember what they are off the top of my head!

Yep, but you'll need a copy of a decent video editing program to do it. Premiere certainly does this, though you'll need to download the extra codecs from Microsoft.

Thanks Tony,

A suitable link to where I should go would be great if at all possible?

If I get the camera out later I'll post up the remains of my front nearside tyre...

The worrying thing is the amount of wear to the sidewalls

Sorry!

Adobe Premiere -check out the Adobe website - www.adobe.com. Other than that in theory you should be able to edit stuff up in XP reasonably enough using mediaplayer (don't know myself as I'm still running windows 2000)...
