Anyone have any a Vmax ?

Mine was doing 153 (crap I know, but working on it) just before the timing beams only for the brake warning lights to come on. It was only my 3rd time around, so was still a little wary anyway.

Turned out that brake fluid cap had come off ? Car had been in for service days days earlier, not that I'm saying they hadn't put it back on right

Certainly livens the senses.

Amateur…!

Went out with K3wly (top bloke by the way) in his 360… the previous run had seen a 167 on the timing beam and he wanted to crack 170…

Hoofing down the runway… "don't lift… don't lift"… we're metres from the timing beam and he lifts… gets onto the brakes… but we appear to have a minor fade issue … miss the corner… speed still not coming off… through the run off.. Through the car park… and stop two foot (not joking here) from the grass bank at the end - in between a blue and white stack of tyres…

We look at each other blankly.. "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit"

He sticks it in reverse and we then pootle back…

I should have been scared but wasn't....in Al's 348 at the bottom bend (anyone notice a pattern here?!)...we were on the inside, and the red Espirit on the outside. Accelerating out the corner and the back end's going......going....GONE. round we go and mid spin we look at one another thinking "$HIT...WHERE'S THE ESPIRIT?????" as we point the wrong way down the runway (twice )seeing it drive past us with loads of room to spare.

Not scarey at all (didn't have any bad moments that day, which was nice!), but was good fun nevertheless and I commend Al on his ability to enjoy his car!

Relaxed moment of the day? I was in Angus' SL65 and Mr_Tony was trying to grab me to go (it was late). Having begged the lovely Phatgixer to take me for a spin, he was just finishing off his cup of tea. That's gone, sparks up a fag. Half way through fag, off we go. Bottom bend, still smoking. Up runway, lovely and relaxed...140...150...160...170....still smoking, relaxing, talking. What a car (and it was not at it's best!).

Who needs brakes anyway podie.

Got the hang of it by about lunch time.
Then I was the schumacher of consistency, running 172 about 7 times on the trot.

I think you also get the "quote of the day award"….

Nickster: "I think my brakes are improving…"
Podie "Nah mate… they've just moved the timing beams 100 yards up the runway…"
Nickster "Oh…"

Thanks for the runs mate, had a great time… lovely sounding 360 you've got there

Took me a while to realise it wasn't my braking/cornering skill that was improving as the day went on...

The 'bonnet open' warning at 156mph although expected never fails to make me clench a bit!

At about 190mph in the left hand lane i went over a seam in the runway, and it caused the car to just move ten metres to the left.

Bloody scary,

all the best

First run with a passenger I'm put up against Simon's Murcielago - a car with twice as much engine / power. So I decide to make up for it in the bends Simon let me through into the quick 3rd gear right hander before the pits, I duly duck under and turn in *a little* too fast, cue back end swinging gracefully out...... we ended up drifting quite nicely and I caught it but all the while I was thinking "where's that bl00dy Lambo" I wasn't scared Hope you enjoyed the show Simon/Rico....

About the scariest was when a couple of rabbits decided to run out onto the runway whilst Nickster was bearing down on them at about 160mph!

Scariest moment was pulling up behind Andiroo on the warm up / safety lap and realising that the front end of my car was about to be burnt off by the flame-thrower, er, I mean exhaust!

Well, it would have been scary if Neil & I hadn't been p155ing ourselves laughing!
