As a spinoff (not literally) from the "VMAX suggestions" thread, is a Bike-only VMAX feasable?

Just about to acquire a GSXR1000-K3 and put a few mods together so it becomes a bit more powerful than phatgixers

Could we have a show of hands on this thread to discover whether there are enough interested parties?

Id love too if I had a bike (another excuse to get a 749s now )

Must admit passing the timing beams & leaving the braking till the last minute would be a bit more scary than in the cars

Remember one of the TVR days at Bruntithorpe when Ray from V8 Developments brought his jap sports bike, not sure what model, and pitted it against the fastest Tiv he'd put together. Twas a twin turbo Griff I think. The bike had run out of gears/revs by the mile point/half way, 178mph rings a bell, with the Griff well behind . Cars can be fast, but they will never out accelerate a top bike IMHO.

I'd be interested, happy to move the timing beams from the last V-max too as I've done standing 1/4 in 10.4s @ 139 mph on my little 750, so entering the main runway at speed and a mile or so to get the ram air working should be ok.

Wonder what Jarod Frosts 'Busa could run down Brunters?

I don't doubt you will , funny how two of the top engine people in TVR circles, Dom at TVR Power and Ray at V8 developements drive bikes though .

Bikes are quick until 170mph or so then aerodynamics and bhp let them down. That is unless its a busa, because those things are just silly....

Abike could probably exit that horrible bumpy slippy bottom bend at ooohh, lets see, 36mph.

At a push.
