Agree it was a brilliant day.
The track session was a blast in the Lotus - behind a Daimler V8 powered single seater! The pace was brisk too.

Brooklands gets better and better - a good alternative to Goodwood. Prices for food and coffee are catching up tho'.

That's the Cooper Daimler which used to compete in BHC in the day.
IIRC it was driven by Martin Brain, one of the top drivers.
Daimler engines were used because they were light yet powerful (and British of course).
Chap I knew in the Midlands bought one direct from Daimler to put in his hill-climb car.
He winched it up in his garage prior to rolling the car underneath to install it but the wooden ceiling joist he was winching on gave way and it promptly fell to the floor smashing the sump - not a happy bunny to say the least!

The one you saw is currently owned and driven by Gillian Goldsmith who, if you search, has done just about everything on four wheels - nice lady too.
