We're not the right target market either. I hear it's a great place to end up with an insurance claim too.

However, good to see you write "no mopeds". What happens if someone turns up on one? Do you point and laugh?

Not the safest of venue's for pedestrians either. Also heard the police are really cracking down on this and threatening to impound cars......

Think i'll wait for the next Virginia Waters !!

I've been to valley park and I've also been on the Surrey run - the two are a world apart!

I suggest you get on to some of the local cruise sites if you want a decent response.

Are there many cruises in Croydon? Or near to Croydon then?

Well, thank you for your "support" The aim is, apparently, to get as many car enthusiasts no matter what car to appreciate motoring in general and meet like minded NICE people - whether you have a Ferrari (and there is one going) to a Smart car. Lots of local websites have this information and the information posted here in this website was a general postign to anyone who would be interested but it appears you lot are too hostile so won't be returning.

Not so much hostile as wary. I went once before and wasn't impressed. I've heard a lot of bad stories from cruisers who used to go but have since opted for other cruises.

Well if you're any kind of PR guy for your event and you give up at the first sniff of a snipe then it's sure going to be a dull event.

Don't give up! If it is worth going to then get on and sell it to us better!

umm....well, it's not MY cruise! I'm not organising it so your remark of "if I were any PR guy" is totally irrelevant. The message was, as mentioned before, only intended as a matter of information nothing more, nothing less. Why such the negatively? You come across as quite rude you know! Is this how you react to all new members? I would certainly hope not but if you are a person with "issues" then I sincerely hope you chill out one day cos you are putting new members off this website and forum!!!

Got to say I side with you on this one. Posts were a little harsh. However, this forum doesn't tend to be interested in the same things as many of the people who would like to go. A bit like advertising a jungle/drum'n'bass rave on Jazz FM. Its not the right target audience.

As for some of the comments, I accidentally drove through one of the Croydon cruises just after getting the Chim. I have to say I was pretty impressed by the organisation. The police were in attendance, as was the RAC giving out free advice and inspections and quite a few enterprising salmonella shacks. Everyone drove well below the speed limit (much to my annoyance ) and seemed to be behaving.

On a personal note, I thought the cars were not to my taste and I've since gone out of my way to avoid running into them again.

So, everyone chill, respect the fact that Pussy is just trying to drum up a bit of interest, even if it is in the wrong place.

Mate, good luck with it.

don't think anyone was getting worked up, although the thread originator sounded a bit pissed off.

I think the idea of a "Cruise" tends to bring to mind boy racers in laxxed up Saxo's and Corsa's burning each other up in a B&Q carpark "Fast & the Furious" style Pussy'.

That may be a poor misconception and perhaps a bit of a stereotyping but I'm sure no members of PH are genuinely "hostile" towards anyone who's a real enthusiast and petrol/pistonhead!

Perhaps if you tell us more what's planned, what normally goes on at these meets (and perhaps some pics from previous ones?) that would help those who've never been to one understand better what it's all about.

Tim

P.S. Welcome to Pistonheads!
