Anyone going or has been that can advise best route to get to Essen from Dusseldorf? Heading over on the Saturday to have a look!

It's not exactly a long distance ,at 20 or so miles.

Get the S-Bahn

Train from Dusselfdorf to Essen, then tram to the Exhibition Centre. They sell tickets in Dusseldorf that cover the whole journey (or at least they did a couple of years ago when I went).

The centre is so vast there is a tram station at each end!
