Hotels in Chartres and Orleans

I'm driving down to Sourzac in France this summer on the 22nd of July for a family holiday but don't quite fancy doing it all in one day.
Gonna stick to major roads on the way down as have the parents and gf in convoy so reckon I will end up around Chartres or near Orleans after about 4/5 hours of driving from Calais.
Can anyone recommend any good hotels with excellent food in these areas from their own travels, especially if it has some kind of motoring heritage as a bonus!
Plus, i'm hoping there are some good roads to be found in the Aquitaine & Dordogne region in general, any recommended in particular or ones to avoid with heavy police for some summer driving fun?
