Here is the results from my Stack recorded maximum speed.
The speed trap was too far down the track and I had to back off so this run was recorded at 192mph, but the stack is very accurate

Quality day

I reached a pretty impressive speed and also beat quite a lot of cars off the lane and passed others under braking.

Top day as ever, thanks to DaveyS1, adamt, billy83 and Dazren for passenger rides.

How bloody hot was it today?!?!?

Hope everyone got back without incident and cars intact.

Don't tell me you took it yourself or I will get very worried about you. I had my doubts when we were in convoy down to LeMans.

Awesome day.

As ever the cars were just jaw dropping, the weather was fantastic (if anything a bit too hot) and most importantly the people great.

Thanks again to Craig, Greg and especially the timing guys who must have nearly melted in the sun.

No idea how I am going to concentrate in work without checking Pistonheads every 5 mins for more pics.

Thanks to Phil for letting me have a drive of the CSL. Thanks to Smiffy for a ride in the Scoob. A bigger thanks to the big guy upstairs who helped me walk out of Smiffy's car in one piece (those who saw the state of his front tyre when we came in will know what I mean).

Edited to add. Noise of the day had to go to Steve F (ferrarichat.com) whose 512 sounded absolutely awesome (and I never thought I would say that about any car that was at the same place as Simons Mircielago)

The Stack has a record/replay function, sure that is what Gareth took the picture of.

i.e. you just press a button and it sticks everything as it was at the max speed. No risks involved

Neither of our Rufs were there this time.

Shame because the track setup was perfect, with a slight tailwind, timing beams very far down the runway and all the cars cleared. Seeing other cars picked up 5+mph from the last VMax, I reckon both Rufs would had a shot at 200mph........

In the afternoon runs with the roof off, once or twice a side wind gust shifted me across the runway 10 feet! I wouldn't like to vmax it when it is especially windy!

Very pleasant indeed although the abscence of Nobility was something I deeply missed, especially the desire to have experienced the new Joustmobile.

One has to thank the perennial stalwarts, Craig The Inspirer & Gregory The Host/Marshal Par Excellence who as ever, represented the backbone of the event for many.

It was especially nice to meet up with McPlotloss, a fellow for whom I have more time than several decades' worth of Rolex production: the quintessential gent.

One of PH's finer luminaries also impressed on several levels, the richly deserved PHer of The Year, Count Brazzi di Luca: Steve is not only disarmingly pleasant but tirelessly selfless - a characteristic proven by his talented devotion to the lens whilst forgoing the opportunity to razz one of the nicest looking - and sounding - Tuscans, with the rest of the thronging loonista. A veritable star.

I must say, one of PH's original, goliathan denizens and sublime intellects, Carzee, was also a surprise attendee. He suggested a return to the board might be long overdue and let us hope so, some of that old magic dust would be most welcome.

Martyn the O'Dmeister was my sparring partner for the journey down and as ever, it was an all too infrequent pleasure to compare notes and ponder the looming inevitability of automatic Micra ownership. If only the inroad south hadn't been so, well, noncey.

Also The Podster & Rudegirl continued to demonstrate the true spirit of PH and in Pod's case, develop a rudimentary understanding of sh1tty kruat electrics. Btw, I hope the Griff's key loss was overcome, where the hell could they be?

Carwise, it was an almost oversatiation of excess and as testament to this, it's only when the intervention of PSM or Smiffy's last second, certain pre-death psychosis intervenes to yank one absurdly sideways that the manner of proceedings assumes a real impression.

I've found myself becoming something of a V-Maxambler in recent times, abandonning my own, truculent steed for the less strenuously accessed, often purely aesthetic delights eleswhere, like the preposterous sight of not one, or two but three Lamborghinis, resplendant in their contention for the lowest jaw dropper of the day trophy.

The Ferraris 512TR & M respectively made delightful worship for those us us still subscribing to the classicist theology of supercar design and of course, Jason's scarcely credible accession to the lofty realms of Ford GT ownership gave the chimps almongst us not only something to savour visually but seriously engendered a sense of 'what if?' by pondering too, the opportunities clearly afforded by whelk trading along The Mall. Alas, folk in the north are simply too tight fisted to part with £500 a time for a sticky, overly pungent mollusc.

As for the legendary G-Man mobile, the ultimate Ultima, if you will, it's reputation proceeded it as it duly confirmed it's domination over mankind itself, the violence of it's battery from the line such that I fear, it simply settled the argument of the day within 100 yards. Quite remarkable and I'm narked not to have thrust my ignoble behind therein and demanded satisfaction. Bugger.

The indominatable Rods of The House of Hyper Tweak; hail to thee. Old Rods is clearly a renegade from the high table of Asgard but also an absolute joy to converse with: a fellow with an obsession for additional power eekage that eclipses my own, I am but a gibbering Luke to his wisened Kenobi (what-oh, Matron?)

The Rods Approach involves being physically compelled to visit Rob at DMS twice a week in order that one's wick be fettled and that no man shalt pass: In fact, although we ventured out in your own masterpiece (the one vehicle that continually bids me from air to fluid coolant), you initially exposed me to Rob's very own transport, that unassuming, black 996 Turbo which was some kind of rolling test bed for the Ecumeister.

It would be churlish of me to deny a response to that initial blast off, not to mention what happened through each and every subsequent corner and the frankly monumental, greedy apetite for searing velocity up the straight, so here it is ~

YYYYyyyeeeeeeeeeearGH!!!!!

Thence to the Adamski M5, the E60 one. Obviously, phenomenal but incredibly, my first perch in an E60, any E60 so not a bad way to start.

I had thought the build quality compromised from pictures but from the solid thunk of the door to the grippage of side bolsters the moment the seat belt clicked home, this is a quality experience all the way. Quite difficult to gleen a meaningful expose to it's prowess 4-up but the way it kept pace with a certain flavour of pork to the first corner (about 140?) certainly impressed and it would have been good to assess it without the limiter: whatever, against the previous model (itself impressive, thanks to Daz's expert piloting skills), it fair lifted up it's skirt and melted forth, a falconesque lunge to the horizon and in the older car, we were, as they say, toast.

Then again, accompanying the great one in his recently acquired E39 M5, I'm bound to reiterate our Wessexian Lord's admonitory observations concerning the seemingly low level of take up amongst the cognoscenti of this now absurdly cheap, driving legend: for the day to day slog, the E39 M5 is surely the default choice for discreet and come hometime, brutal progress? Superb, just superb.

All in all, then, a brilliant day, superb people, incredible cars and of course, memorable rat au van. (Although next time, a Salvatore needs to ensure his frigo is working; nothing gauls more than lukewarm, flavoured carbonate!)

Test the beetle? pah! up to near the one lepton level I was wishing you'd put ya flippin' boot down a bit more in that steriodily enhanced Karman Ghia road blocker of yours!

Mind you the battle became a tad one sided after that speed
