Me and the missus are taking our elise over to France via the channel tunnel this weekend. We've got 2 days to play with - has anyone got any tips on where's good to go, anything worth seeing etc?

Reims - champagne country. There is a 'tour de champagne' route which you can follow which is beautiful and scenic and very relaxing. You can also then get the obligatory "my car at Reims GP pits" photograph

If you have 'clearance' to go in June, how about a practice run down to Le Mans? I bet that would go down a treat (Not!)

Oh, also - for the route down there, don't just drive the 3hours (ish) it takes to get to Reims on the autoroutes.

You can spend a nice 8 hours (ish) zig zagging either side of the main autoroute in some beautiful places until such time as you wish to get to your hotel and, hey presto, then you just get on the motorway when you want to to finish the final bit. Sometimes, you can be very lucky with the weather aswell!

Thanks for all the advice gents, found a thread on SELOC, just booked 2 nights at the Best western in Reims. If you ever need any advice on hotels http:/tripadvisor.co.uk is very good, people just post whatthey though of where they stayed, very honest indeed. Going to look at one of the Champane houses possibly Mumm, and of course the old GP pits!
