British Motor Show Tickets Reduced
Now much more affordable to attend
The new organisers of the British Motor Show have taken on board the comments of visitors to recent shows and reduced the price of tickets significantly. In fact the prices are the lowest for 14 years.
Tickets for the event, which will run from 20-30 July 2006 at ExCeL London, will start at just £8. Pre-booked family tickets will be available for just £20 (not including First Day tickets.)
The British International Motor Show is the biggest consumer show in the UK, attracting around 500,000 visitors. After nearly thirty years the show is returning to London with a radically new format and host of entertainment.
"We decided to keep ticket prices as low as possible." explained Kirsty Adams, marketing director. "We want to broaden the show's appeal and make it an attractive option for families looking for a day out in London. The show's dates coincide with school summer holidays so we are hoping to attract a more family-orientated crowd. We haven't forgotten the car enthusiasts either. Our First Day tickets, which guarantee half the crowds, will be priced at £30."
The show will also open until late most evenings allowing visitors to sup some beers in the waterside cafes as well as to enjoy the rock and pop concerts being planned.

The Southampton Boat Show has the right idea. First Day tickets are much more expensive and have no concessions and no discounts. Costs an arm and a leg but it's less of a scrum and you're less likely to get whacked in the head with an oar from a bargain hunter who has been to the boat mart.

I trust that the First Day tickets are actually going to mean something this year. It's no good having tickets that are twice the price to ensure half the crowd when The Telegraph and Top Gear Magazine then go and do a 2-for-1 offer on First Day tickets thus making them the same price as normal. ![]()

Yeah I would be interested in First Day tckts but would want to now that it was not a waste of money.
Ted, I think on the other thread there was a mention of PH tckt deals, do you know yet if any of these will include a first day option or are we just as well to book direct for this date?

£10 for four hours!
For my wife and I to use public transport from our home in Camberwell, South London to the Excel Centre will cost no less than £12 (for the return journey) and take about an hour one way, door-to-door.
Fitting that this comparison should be made in the context of a motor show. Guess I'll be making the half-hour drive, then.

yeah but what about the cost of getting there?
The train is £118 return for me.
Driving in is a nightmare, the parking is a ripoff...
Sorry the NEC was better
How about driving _close_ to London, parking up, then
getting public transport the rest of the way.
Even better if you pick a quiet side street near a
train station.
I stopped going to the NEC car show many years ago.
On the one hand loads of Brummie school kids, on the
other hand, because I choose to wear a suit & tie for
the event, lots of people mistook me for a salesman ...
