Can any drivers who haven't had info pls email me asap. you should have all had it by now.

Also, to reiterate, no spectators I'm afraid, you will be turned away at the gate so please dont have a wasted journey.

I have been warned by brunters (who have been warned about noise previously) that any particularly loud cars will be asked not to run, I have previously mentioned this to everyone who has anything particularly loud but can all runners pls be aware of this & let me know if this is an issue for your car. I dont want to disappoint people but we have to be courteous to our runway owners.

From memory of previous VMAXs, we've so far had a modified Ferrari 360CS and a modified Viper asked to curtail their runs.

Craig can you confirm if they are making the noise rules more stringent, or just reminding us that they do still have limits?

Unbelievable!

What about those of us who were hoping to fight with canon?

Yet another slight against the vanguard of excess, it is simply unnacceptable.

I can see DeR changing his steed already so as to comply.

Perhaps an alternative fetish is in order.

I think Simons Murcie was tested at something stupid like 115db with the Tubi's on at one track.

limit at Brunters is 104db, Elvington has just changed to 105

to give you an idea a stock viper is 95db, with a catback 102, with hi-flow cats, headers and catback 112db, a modified viper will be over 120

these readings are measured to FIA static standards

As you know a 1db rise, is a trebling of sound level.

Or is a 3db rise, is a doubling of sound level.

At the last PistonFest a couple of years, there was a PH guy with ear muffs and a Db meter who going around looking for noisy cars to do a static test,
recall the loudest on the day at max revs was a de-catted cerby@132db's. I managed 129.2 db's with hi-flows, the pops/bangs were spiking the reading

These noise restrictions are going to become tighter, I've heard from a reliable source Brunters may be 98db by the end of the summer.... thats quite sad
