I recall reading that GuyR removed his spoiler for a bit of extra speed last time. I'm contemplating doing this, but not sure it's worth the effort. How many extra mph do you think I'll gain?

I would say 2-3mph,however all wings work differently, could be 5mph!

Hmmm, not enough to justify the effort I think. Plus being a vmax virgin, I don't think I'll be breaking any records !!!

I'd keep the spoiler on to start with.

The 320d suprises me every time I drive it !!! The suprise being that you can stand on the gas pedal and it still doesn't go anywhere. Quite a contrast to the GT2

I dont think it takes too long to take the GT2 wing off,

I bet on the day if you feel like removing it Guy could help and you could have a pretty cool comparison with it on and off.

all the best

This,is a good Idea.
Through the day, there will be a secondary interest,Who will gain the
most extra mph buy wing removal...

It doesn't take long but you have to be careful not to drop the bolts as they could fall inside the rear engine cover, which would be a pain.

I removed mine as a one-off, but I wouldn't do it again. It may have added to acceleration slightly at the top-end, but made the bottom corner less quick.

Got the pics at home, but on DeR's Beetle, the wipers went, the shut lines were taped up... so were the indicators... and... it went 1mph slower...

I'd take mine off but it's proving a tad tricky so sod it, it will just have to say on.
