Afternoon all

Currently living in East London, looking to pop out into the countryside tomorrow for a scenic pub lunch with the g/f. Does anyone have a suggestion with decent food, beer and possibly a fire? A scenic drive to get there would be a bonus.

Cheers

The Running Horses in Mickleham, near Dorking in Surrey - at the bottom of Box Hill - great food, real fire, pretty village, Box Hill behind and nice route there through Kent & Surrey thumbup

Can recommend Jamie Olivers parents pub in Essex about 30 mins north from the Blackwall tunnel. Its called the cricketers and has excellent food and set on a nice village green.

If you want to pop south of the water theres a couple of goodies.

The Manor Farm Barn at Southfleet is a fantastic barn conversion with an excellent menu, run by fellow PH'er Pied Piper - formerly known as Tuscan Tel.

The Woodman at Ide Hill (near Sevenoaks / Edenbridge) is a regular haunt for locals who fancy a decent meal in a nice setting, as is The Little Brown Jug at Chiddingstone Causeway (opposite Penshurst station)

A few of us will be at The Rose & Crown in Dunton Green, just north of Sevenoaks, for our monthly TVRCC meet - pop in if youre local.

Arrrrgh!
If only I'd remembered to check my post!

Oh well, many thanks for the tips guys, will certainly make the most of them next weekend! As it turned out, it was raining cats and dogs anyway so not the best driving weather (but luckily the Tuscan was largely leak free??!!

Bummed I missed the TVR meet too!
