There's only so much you can do with a 6-year old, when it's cold and wet and windy.
And did not fancy our tent being used as the centrepeice of the post-party rendevous, at 01:30 in the morning, when we've been asleep (with said 6-year old).

We stuck it out overnight, with every guy-rope double-pegged and some spare ones too, but I confess that it was mainly due to not wanting to break camp in the wind, rain and failing light.
The band were bloody brilliant, as ever, but I did miss a lot of them sitting just inside Tyrells having a long chat with Garlick and acting as doorman for every person who wanted to come through that fire-door from the tent every few seconds.

Even if the band had been utterly crap (which they definitely weren't), they were worth their weight in gold just for the moment when they shifted into "I predict a riot" when the security guard tried to tell them they had to stop! 
You've Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party was quite appropriate as well! Phatmann Bassman and co tell me that when they were told to stop, they were horrified. For a start they had been booked until 12, but they were also having a really good time despite the cold, and liked the fact we seemed to be enjoying it to! It was a really good performance.
