I have found out that the Brooklands event happening this weekend has a forced park and ride scheme. I get very car sick as a passenger and am now not going to go to the event.
The park and ride scheme was not advertised at time of sale of the tickets.
Very upset as i have been looking forward to this weekend for months now.

I am now offereing the 2 tickets for sunday at a very reduced price.
If anyone is interested then please email me.

Ed.

the buses run from the M25 J10 i think. they have a stict no parking zone all round the area. I did think about it but i reckon lots of other people will have the same idea.

There is a post from the director of Brooklands on this page here... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Is this really such an issue? It`s about a 10 minute ride on a bus for what promises to be a fantastic event. They`re certainly not doing a park & ride for the fun of it but because it`s an absolute necessity. It is possible to walk it or howabout a bike?

Unless you have a busphobia this seems a bit of a drastic step!

I think there is a bit of truth in this.
I havent been on a bus in 5 years after suffering an ear infection with caused me to loose my balance for 18 months and i am still a bit off balance now but i have anxiety issues about not being in control so i wont be able to enjoy the day if i have the worry of travelling on a bus etc.

I am offering these tickets as i have had to pass up many many things in the last few years so this is just another thing on the list.

They are £40 for the pair. thats almost half price.

ps, thanks for the support chaps smile and one day i will be able to do all these things.

Fair enough! surely worth a call to the office though, you never know, they may let you park round the corner..

Why not park in Weybridge and have a coffee at one of the many little bars or coffee shops, who knows you find yourself sitting next a celeb /footballer /actor It is one of the richest real estate areas in the UK Chill for a while and then have a 10min walk down the hill to Brooklands ,park by the cricket pitch, lots of space around it on the weekend

I would not drive all the way to Devon just to visit a big car park ,no matter how many nice cars were in it ,make the most of your day

If not too late, I note that they are running a free bus from Weybridge station which would be a much shorter journey (and walkable if you really can't stick the bus). Not sure what parking situation will be at Weybridge station if you're driving but there is quite a large car park there and at the college nextdoor.

If you did not go to the Brooklands Centenary Festival because of the travel arrangements it is a shame.
I went on the Saturday. The weather was not very good and the timetable was non existent. However, to see the smiling faces of the owners of these fabulous old cars as they drove around the track made up for everything. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for them and for the visitors.
I walked to the Byfleet Banks ( yes it is eerie). I have seen the Banks before, empty. They came to life as the cars drove along them.
The air display was great and there was more than enough to see and do in one day.
If you get the opportunity to visit Brooklands - go!
I took lots of photographs and if you would like to share the experience visit http://suewhyte.photopic.net and scroll down to the Gallery entitled brooklands Centenary Festival
