Classics on the Common 2007
Discussion
I'll be there! - My home town so been for years, but 1st year having a car worth parking on the common!
Great event and well worth going, but really need to be there early as gets v. busy. Before 6 ideally if parking on common.
I'm getting there for about 4 this year, will be in Dark blue TVR Chim, probably parked up with Black Elise and a Ferrari or two.
See you there!

just a word of warning for people who wish to turn up and park their cars on the common. you have to have applied for a space, and i'm pretty sure that it's full now.
the show has got so big over the years unfortunatley it had to get more organised eventually!
still worth going though, even if you can't get on the common.
cheers

Forecast for the first half of the week looks a bit poor. You guys with heavy cars might get stuck

What a great turn out. Some truly lovely cars on display. Unfortunatley I didn't get myself organised properly, so had to find parking in the town, but had a good wander around.
I think the most spectacular car there was the Pagani Zonda F Roadster, but my personal favourte was a gorgeous 3 wheel Jap engined morgan.

Home town so will be there! Been for last 4 years - it is fantastic. Was a complete wash out last year but people still carried on trooping. Look out for the drunk guys outside the Harpenden Arms swearing at the guys who have hired a Ferrari for the day!
They gave a fellow PH'er a lot of abuse last year as he drove past in his new, and owned, 430 Spider. Cocks. Good evening again, apart from the arse on the gate who, as I drove in with a Chimaera, 575 and 308 in tow commented "I don't know why this bunch are coming, they're all modern".

Cheers mate.I have to say there was an eclectic mix of cars there, but surely that is all part of the appeal. It isn't every day you get to see a millitary Hummer parked next to a Diablo. A Pagani Zonda F Roadster in the same car park as a 1984 Astra GTE (which I found surprisingly likeable).
I think the problem is in the event name! Personally, I love the mix and have seen a lot of cars up close that realistically, unless I go into a showroom for no good reason, I will never get close to again.
Re: Harpenden Arms - I witnessed the abuse last year, they were only jealous w
kers. Sometimes makes you think twice about buying a nice car, but the end you have to think - who is driving it?
P.S. didnt make it last night
, got dragged out to watch Harry Potter at Luton Cineworld (although it was quite good)...
